There’s nothing quite like enjoying a meal al fresco, especially on a warm summer night or a mild evening even year-round. The fresh air and blue skies somehow make that Chardonnay taste extra crisp, and that strawberry shortcake taste sweeter! North Carolinians living in and around Cary are fortunate to enjoy mild weather throughout the year, and there’s certainly no shortage of beautiful outdoor dining spots.

Here are our top seven outdoor dining options in all of Cary:

Pro’s Epicurean Market & Cafe

Shop for a few gourmet items for dinner and reward yourself with a delicious cheese plate and a glass of wine! Pro’s Epicurean Market & Cafe is located in Downtown Cary and features an impressive outdoor seating area.

A veranda is an open-air porch that is partially enclosed, which is precisely how one can describe Verandah. This beautiful restaurant is located at The Mayton Inn in Downtown Cary and serves southern-inspired fare such as squash risotto and shrimp and grits. It’s delicious!

Academy Street Bistro

Academy Street Bistro is located in the heart of Downtown Cary and features a lovely streetside patio. Enjoy the sites and sounds of this bustling town while enjoying a glass of wine and some bourbon maple scallops.

Enrigo Italian Bistro

When the weather cooperates, Enrigo Italian Bistro opens its massive windows and sets up outdoor tables on the porch! There’s something so romantic about enjoying an Italian meal al fresco with a glass of red wine. Saluti!

The Big Easy Oven & Tap

Celebrate the tastes of New Orleans at The Big Easy Oven & Tap. Enjoy a po’ boy on the porch along with some live music. Check out it’s After Dark calendar to see who is playing!

Herons offers a more upscale outdoor dining experience. It’s located in The Umstead, a five-star hotel & spa owned by local billionaire James Goodnight, who is also a resident of Cary. Herons features an extensive wine list along with a menu that features seasonal dishes. It has won many awards and is considered one of the finest restaurants in all of America.

Serendipity Gourmet Deli

Serendipity Gourmet Deli has been a downtown Cary staple for decades! It serves up fresh, gourmet sandwiches and tasty desserts. Peanut Butter Pie, anyone? Though the inside is charming, the outdoor dining area is lined with trees and makes for a cozy, relaxed lunch on any given day.

Other favorite local Cary spots with great outdoor dining areas include Crosstown Pub and Mellow Mushroom. If you are looking for a party, Mac’s Tavern has a huge patio and often features live music. Since many of us spend so much time indoors at our desks – we all deserve to enjoy a cold beer or a fresh glass of wine on one of these awesome patios every now and then. See you there!
