Cary has grown a lot over the recent years, but at its core, it is a proud southern town.

Lucky 32 Southern Kitchen

Lucky 32 Southern Kitchen offers an upscale take on southern comfort dishes. Its menu changes with the season. On it, you’ll find dishes such as North Alabama Chicken Bread, Black Bean Cakes, and Cornmeal Crusted Carolina Catfish. Danny’s Bar-B-Que

Danny’s Bar-B-Que has been voted Best Ribs in Wake County by WRAL viewers and was also recognized by the Cary Magazine Maggy Awards! It serves up the best-smoked meats and all of the southern sides you’d expect from an award-winning BBQ place – collards, baked beans, slaw, and more.

Dame’s Chicken & Waffles

Is there any better combination than crispy fried chicken with sweet, tasty waffles? Dame’s Chicken & Waffles offers up some of the very best in southern comfort food. In addition to chicken & waffle combinations, it also serves up southern stables such as shrimp & grits and collards.

City BBQ

City BBQ is a chain that’s recently made its way into the Triangle. In addition to Cary, it has locations in Raleigh, Garner, and Durham. It’s made quite the impression and has won a Cary Magazine Maggy Award for its BBQ. The menu features a variety of smoked meats, including pulled pork, along with Southern-style sides such as hush puppies and corn pudding.

Brew N Que

Enjoying a cold beer with southern cooking adds another level of comfort to your meal! Brew N Que was recently recognized by the Cary Magazine Maggy Awards for its fantastic BBQ. The menu features chopped BBQ, Texas-Style Brisket, and smoked chicken along with southern scratch-made sides such as baked beans and cornbread. Brew N Que also features craft beer on tap and a bottle shop!

Smok’t BBQ & Taps

Cary locals can’t get enough of the beer and BBQ combination! Smok’t BBQ & Taps features a menu of pulled pork, pulled chicken, and plenty of southern sides like cole slaw and sweet potato casserole. It also features unique, southern inspired items such as Smok’t Armadillo Eggs, which are jalapenos stuffed with cheese and wrapped in ground sausage. Of course, there’s plenty of beer on tap to wash it all down with.

In Cary, new restaurants are always popping up, and particular attention is paid to southern cooking. As a southern town, we take it seriously! The newest addition to the local southern cooking scene is Postmaster.
