The smell of fresh bread, cookies, desserts, and other sweet treats is so divine! Mhmm!! There’s nothing quite like the comforting atmosphere of a bakery. Fortunately, Raleigh is home to many excellent bakeries, each with a different specialty. Craving a freshly made bagel or roll for lunch? How about a macaron for dessert?
No matter what baked goodie you want, Raleigh definitely has it. Check out these eight great Raleigh based bakeries that are worth visiting:
New York Bagel & Deli
New York transplants rejoice! You CAN get great bagels in Raleigh at New York Bagel & Deli. In addition to freshly made bagels, this bakery also serves fresh sandwiches and delicious pastries. Try the cannolis!
Yellow Dog Bread Company
Yellow Dog Bread Company specializes in artisan breads and also features pastries such as cinnamon rolls and apple turnovers. The locals also love the fresh coffee!
Boulted Bread is also known for its artisan breads and pastries made with organic, locally sourced grains. Try the baguette or the seeded rye. Delicious!
Located in Downtown Raleigh, Lucettegrace is one of the most popular bakeries. Though it’s mostly known for its delicious macarons, Lucettegrace serves a variety of pastries and desserts and even offers a small lunch menu. The French Ham Sandwich is fantastic!
Groovy Duck Bakery
Groovy Duck Bakery features the most unique cakes and cookies in all of Raleigh! Check out its mini monster cakes and Stranger Things cookies! You can always count on finding creative and delicious desserts at Groovy Duck. Wondering about the name? This groovy duck has traveled all over the world!
Raleigh French Bakery
Raleigh French Bakery opened in early 2017, making it the newest bakery on this list! It features French-inspired breads and pastries. Try the eclairs and the chocolate croissants. Délicieux!
Night Kitchen Bakehouse & Cafe

Despina’s Cafe is a family-owned and operated bakery that specializes in Greek cuisine. If you are looking for the best bogatses and baklava around, look no further! Despina’s Cafe also features a fantastic lunch menu with freshly made sandwiches and soups.
Another fantastic Greek-inspired bakery is Neomonde. It has several locations throughout the Triangle, and many restaurants serve its freshly made bread.
Some of the bakeries on this list close early in the evening, but if you get a late night craving for sweets, Insomnia Cookies is there for you until 3 am!
