When it comes to choosing a restaurant for a celebration, it often depends on the nature of the party and your personality. Celebrating your wedding anniversary? You will probably want to go to a romantic restaurant where you can enjoy a quiet conversation with your significant other.
Celebrating a graduation or a promotion? You might have a larger crowd celebrating and thus, want to go to a larger restaurant where it’s acceptable to get a little loud.
We feature both types on our list. Check out these Downtown Raleigh spots next time you are planning for a party or celebration:
ORO Restaurant serves unique dishes and boasts a fantastic wine and cocktail list. The upstairs mezzanine features a fireplace, which definitely adds to the romance factor. This is a great spot to celebrate an anniversary.
Caffe Luna is a beautiful Italian restaurant located in the heart of Downtown Raleigh. It features a main dining room that’s perfect for a romantic dinner as well three private party rooms for larger celebrations.
Mulino Italian Kitchen
Mulino Italian Kitchen is another beautiful Italian restaurant. The outdoor area has a pool, and it’s wonderful to dine there on an evening and watch the lights reflect off of it. Mulino Italian Kitchen is an ideal location for a romantic anniversary or a larger party.
Death & Taxes
If you want to celebrate a birthday or a promotion with a culinary adventure, look no further than Ashley Christensen’s Death & Taxes! Dishes are cooked with wood-fire and are meant to be shared, so this restaurant works best for a group celebration.
Second Empire is located inside a beautiful historical home and features delicious gourmet dishes. It is perfect for a romantic celebration. Looking for something more casual for your celebration? Dine in The Tavern, which is also located inside the house. It also offers private dining rooms for larger parties.
St. Roch Fine Oysters + Bar
St. Roch Fine Oyster + Bar serves oysters in addition to New Orleans fare. Try the Red Beans and Rice – it is the best I’ve ever had! It has a cozy atmosphere and is perfect for an anniversary or a special date night.
When it comes to celebrating, Taverna Agora is a personal favorite of mine. Taverna Agora serves delicious Greek food and wines. Dine on the terrace, the patio or inside the restaurant. It also has large tables, so it’s a great spot for celebrating birthdays with all of your friends!
Any Downtown Raleigh spot can be ideal for a celebration. Maybe you had your first date at a casual pizza place or burger joint. It’s all about the event and the people with whom you are celebrating!
