Going out in Downtown Raleigh isn’t just about eating and drinking at awesome bars and restaurants. We also love to be entertained by a local band, comedian or even a drag show on occasion… Downtown Raleigh offers live entertainment at a variety of venues to suit all tastes.

Here are a few of our favorite spots:

Deep South The Bar

Deep South The Bar is one of those bars that you can always count on the be open in the evenings, even during holidays. It host bands of many genres as well as a weekly open mic night on Tuesdays.

Lincoln Theatre

Lincoln Theatre is one of the larger live music venues downtown, so it attracts more popular bands. If you want to go to a show at Lincoln Theatre, it’s likely that you will need to purchase a ticket ahead of time. It hosts bands, DJs, and parties of all kinds. Legends

Legends is known for being the premier LGBT club in Raleigh. It also houses a performance space called The Spotlight Theater. On Friday and Saturday nights, you can see Raleigh’s finest drag queens perform!

Irregardless Cafe

Looking for dinner and a show? Irregardless Cafe serves delicious farm-to-table meals and also hosts musicians every night! The genre varies, but you can typically expect to hear jazz, acoustic or folk music at Irregardless Cafe. Check out the calendar to see who will be performing.

Goodnight’s Comedy Club

Goodnight’s Comedy Club has been hosting comedians from around the world since 1983! In addition to professional comedians, it also hosts a weekly open mic for local aspiring comedians. Check the calendar for upcoming shows.

Imurj

Imurj is one of Downtown Raleigh’s newest performance spaces. It hosts open mic nights, local musicians, comedians and even art classes! It truly offers something for everyone. Check out the calendar to see what’s coming up.

The Pour House Music Hall

The Pour House Music Hall is a Downtown Raleigh institution. This small performance space has played host to musicians from all over the world since 1997. It also has lots of fantastic beers on tap so you can enjoy a craft brew while rocking out!

Kings

Kings is a local favorite when it comes to live entertainment. It hosts bands of all genres, parties, comedy showcases and more.

Neptune’s Parlour

Other popular live entertainment spots include Neptune’s Parlour, which is located right downstairs from Kings, and Slim’s.

Slim’s

Please keep in mind that you are attending a show at any of the places that don’t serve food, you may be asked to purchase a membership, due to outdated blue laws in North Carolina.
