Brewery Bhavana

Brewery Bhavana, one of Downtown Raleigh’s newest restaurants, recently snagged a top ten spot on Bon Appétit’s America’s Best New Restaurants in 2017 list! This unique spot features a brewery, a flower shop a bookshop and amazing dim sum. Reservations are a must, as all of the publicity has made it difficult to get a table!

  • 5 star ratingAmazing food. Beautiful atmosphere. Great location. Fun place for a large group. You can order several small plates to share and try a lot of things instead of having to decide on just one dish. The bookstore and flower shop are neat additions. Definitely recommend for lunch or dinner.

  • Myself, my husband, and our 3 month old went to Brewery Bhavana after visiting the museums and before going to a movie in the park. The moment you walk in the place seems so warm and inviting. Our server, Jaime, was AMAZING. She had great recommendations on the food and the beer and was so sweet to our little girl. You have to try the turnip cakes and the crispy pig ear! The honey beer is also sooo good. We will definitely be back.

  • 5 star ratingIn town for just one night and decided to eat at Brewery Bhavana based on yelp and trip advisor reviews. This restaurant did not disappoint.
First and foremost, I would like to shout out my waitress, Carmen. I was dining alone and really she was connected with me and paid attention to my tastes (even while serving a large adjacent party of ~15), making me feel incredibly welcome. She made excellent recommendations in both food and drink and even steered me away from some things I THOUGHT I wanted and towards far superior choices.

  • 5 star ratingWent for dinner on a Tuesday night and found it to be pretty packed. We ordered the trio hummus and bread, kabobs and fatteh. Every item was delicious. The lamb in the fatteh was juicy soft and cooked to perfection. Ambience was good, the hosts were super nice.
    Great experience.

  • 4 star ratingGreat ambience and delicious food!
We went on Sunday for lunch at around 1pm and had to wait around 20-30 minutes to be seated. The bookstore/flower store combo was smaller than I expected but very well curated! That area of the store was gorgeous with the light coming in.
Sadly we were seated in one of the wings of the store where it's a bit darker (but I imagine a little quieter). We ordered the duck rolls, the seafood dumplings, and the crab fried rice. The duck rolls were really crispy on the outside but we both wished there was more duck... Expand

  • 5 star ratingWe had an excellent meal here for a Saturday lunch.  We made reservations on Open Table about a week in advance and could only get a reservation at 11:30 or 2.  So advanced reservations are highly recommended!  Our server was excellent- very nice, professional and well versed on the menu.  All the food was delicious!!  Love the space with all the books and flowers.  It's such a unique place!  Highly recommend!

  • Overall this is a nice place to eat with good food.
The menu has just the right amount of items that make it feel like care and attention to flavors is priority.
Our group had 2 appetizers, the spring rolls and crispy rice lettuce wraps. Both of these were very good and I would recommend. In fact these were so filling I could have just enjoyed this as my main course.
We also ordered the Pad Thai with Shrimp and Basil Stir Fry. The Pad Thai was good with perfect flavors. The Basil Stir Fry tasted bland and felt like it was... Expand

  • 5 star ratingAfter reading so many rave reviews about Bida Manda we had to check it out!  One added plus is that we were attending a concert at the Red Hat amphitheater and you can walk from Bida Manda!
I tried to make reservations but they were already booked solid for the night.  The hostess told me that if we got there at 4:45 we should be able to be seated.  They opened at 5:00 and there was already a line and and so many people waiting to be seated!
We had a party of 8 and the hostess was right.  We only waited... Expand

  • 5 star ratingWe started with Crispy Rice Lettuce Wraps and Crispy Vegetable Spring Rolls. The spring rolls were typical but the lettuce wraps were extraordinary! I wasn't sure about the combination of flavors in the rice mixture (coconut, herbs, roasted peanuts) but it worked perfectly and the sweet chili sauce was the perfect complement.
The pumpkin curry is an absolutely delicious entree, rich and spicy with perfectly cooked vegetables and just the right amount of heat in the broth.
I also tasted the pad thai which had a bit too much fish sauce for me but that is absolutely a matter of... Expand

  • 4 star ratingFor my first trip to Raleigh, we stumbled upon Brewery Bhavana when the wait at the restaurant we had planned to go to exceeded 2 hours.  It was packed and had an amazing energy.  Part bookstore, part florist, part brewery, part dim sum....we had to check it out.  Initially, we were going to stay for one drink and wait for our name to be called at the other restaurant.  But then we started talking to some people, and then a seat at the bar opened up, and then we read the reviews, and so we stayed.
The beer/wine/cocktail list is impressive.... Expand

  • 5 star ratingI've been a few times and the food and atmosphere is always excellent! Today was exceptionally special though. I noticed my veggie pad Thai (which is amazing) didn't have any crispy tofu on it like it usually does. I went ahead and ate it because I was hungry and it was still very yummy. I mentioned it to my waitress Angela and she was very apologetic and she mentioned that they have a few new chefs. I wasn't really expecting anything to be comped because I ate the meal anyway, but she ended up comping the pad Thai AND the... Expand

  • My family and I went to Bida Manda for the first time to celebrate my mom's birthday. We had a wonderful time! The environment was inviting and the decorations are comfortable. The staff was friendly and cheerful. Our waitress was particularly great, very kind and knowledgeable about all the questions we asked about the food (even threw in a few jokes to make us feel more comfortable about asking).
As far as the food is concerned, I've never had Laotian food before. I was very pleasantly surprised! I split two entrees with my... Expand

  • 5 star ratingBrewery Bhavana is so unique! Not only is it a restaurant but it's a bookstore, flowershop, and a brewery. Do not let the outside fool you.
My boyfriend and I were visiting from DC and got together with friends who live in the Raleigh area. They were raving about this restaurant and after doing some research, I find out that Forbes ranked Brewery Bhavana in the Top 5 Best Restaurants in the WORLD. Being a foodie, you already know I was sooo excited to try this place. I am happy to say that my expectations were fully met.
